Hex Head Lag-schroeven

Hex head lag-schroeven worden gebruikt om dichte houten planken met houten werkstukken of dunne metalen te installeren in zware houtbewerkings- en constructietoepassingen. Raptor Supplies biedt een breed scala aan zeskantbouten van merken als Fabory, Snap-Loc, Voor altijd en Superstrut. Deze grote houtdraadbouten hebben externe zeskantkoppen en dikke stelen voor eenvoudige installatie met een sleutel, terwijl wegglijden en breken worden voorkomen.

Voordelen

  • Ze zijn hoofdzakelijk verdeeld in 2 delen: de hoofd en schroefdraad gedeelte.
  • De externe zeskantkop is ideaal voor installatie/verwijdering met behulp van een sleutel of zeskantschroevendraaier.
  • Het schroefdraadgedeelte heeft over het algemeen uit elkaar geplaatste draden (grove draad) en een scherpe punt voor het veilig vastgrijpen van houten planken, noppen en zachte materialen.
  • Snap-Loc houtdraadbouten hebben een lichaam met volledige schroefdraad en een ingebouwde sluitringkop om de belasting over een groot oppervlak te verdelen.
  • Geselecteerde modellen zijn gedeeltelijk voorzien van schroefdraad en hebben een schouder in plaats van een schacht/lichaam met volledige schroefdraad om ze te beschermen tegen losraken. Ze voorkomen breuk/buigen als gevolg van door wrijving veroorzaakte oververhitting of zijdelingse krachten.

How to install a hex head lag screw?

  • Use a bit having a slightly smaller diameter than the selected lag screw and drill a pilot hole all the way through the surface.
  • Use a ratchet, nut driver or power drill with the right driver bit to install the hex head lag screw.

Do lag bolts need washers?

It is highly recommended to use washers with lag bolts. Using a washer under the screw head increases the surface area in contact with the application surface. This decreases chances of the screw head digging into the surface and cracking it due to heavy load.

What Is the difference between hex head lag screws and wood screws?

  • Wood screws are used to connect only wooden materials whereas hex head lag screws can be used to join wooden materials with other materials as well.
  • Wood screws do not require pilot holes as they thread into the surface, but lag screws require a pre-drilled hole.
  • Lag screws can handle heavier loads than wood screws.
