Raptor Supplies biedt een breed assortiment van deze schroeven van Duraspin, Fabory, snelle dop, Grainger & Super-Strut. Deze zelftappende schroeven vereisen een voorgestanst of geboord gat (afhankelijk van de hardheid van het materiaal) voor installatie / bediening. Deze houtschroeven hebben een constructie van staal, roestvrij staal, koolstofstaal of messing om hun vorm te behouden en een hoge slijtvastheid te bieden, zelfs na hameren.

Voordelen

  • Houtschroeven drukken hun schroefdraad stevig in het materiaal voor een trillingsbestendige montage.
  • Ze zijn hoofdzakelijk verdeeld in 3 delen: de hoofd schroefdraad gedeelte en tippunt.
  • De kop is verkrijgbaar in meerdere stijlen en aandrijvingen om de schroef in/uit het materiaal te draaien.
  • Het schroefdraadgedeelte onder de kop vangt het materiaal op en voorkomt dat de schroeven uit het werkstuk komen.

  • Sommige schroeven hebben extra grote koppen om een ​​hoge houdkracht te leveren en tegelijkertijd doortrekken te voorkomen.

What is the difference between wood screws and metal screws?

Wood screws are used on wooden surfaces whereas metal screws are used on metal surfaces or sheets. Generally, wood screws have shorter threading with lower pitch (threads per inch) compared to metal screws that have longer threading with higher pitch.

Is a pilot hole required for installing wood screws?

A pilot hole is required when installing these screws on hardwood / laminates / crack-prone wood, where final appearance matters. They can work without a pilot hole when used on softwood or applications where appearance does not matter.

How to install these wood screws?

  • Mark the hole centre where the screw is to be installed with an awl.
  • Drill bore a shaft clearance hole before drilling a pilot hole.
  • When using flathead wood screws, countersink or counterbore the drilled hole.
  • Press a drill tip attached to a driver tightly into the screw head and turn the driver to fit the screw fully into the hole.
